‘Twiggy’…Worlds first Supermodel

Twiggy burst on to the scene in the mid 60’s at age 16. She was born in the north end of London in 1949.The fashion world would never be the same. I guess you could say the world in general would never be the same. She had a very different look….and her signature, at least for awhile, would simply be “Skinny”.

Twiggy also became an actress. Her first film was “The Boyfriend”, winning her two Golden Globe awards. Let’s not forget her music career as well, with many successful albums to her credit.

Did you know she had a part in “The Blues Brothers”,and was on many TV shows in the US. She had her own show in England called ‘Twiggy’s People’ in the 90’s. She married Leigh Lawson,the British Actor.

Also a new album “Midnight Blue”.

Twiggy continues to model….you’ve seen her on “Vogue”. Oh, and maybe you’ve caught her as a judge on “America’s Next Top Model” with Tyra Banks. Well, from the fashions of the sixties and into the 21st century,Twiggy remains on the cutting edge. A designer with her own successful clothing line…..and now a new line of  bed linen.
